Volleyball Game Preview: Animas Panthers vs. Reserve Mountaineers + How To Watch

After both having extra time off, the Animas Panthers and the Reserve Mountaineers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Animas came up short against Quemado on Saturday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

While Animas was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Quemado's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Reserve posted their closest victory since October 4, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Magdalena 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Reserve wouldn't go down easily and took Magdalena into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-10, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11.

Animas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Reserve, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Animas might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Reserve in their previous meeting on October 3rd. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
