Basketball Recap: St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs vs. University School of Nashville Tigers
The St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged University School of Nashville out 33-31. The victory was just what St. Cecilia Academy needed coming off of a 72-37 loss in their prior contest.
When it comes to explaining why University School of Nashville lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Josie Whelan. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Whelan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Uma Peters, who scored ten points.
St. Cecilia Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for University School of Nashville, they dropped their record down to 5-19 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
St. Cecilia Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Irish at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Father Ryan will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for University School of Nashville, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Shires at 6:00 p.m.
