Soccer Recap: Richland Has No Trouble Against Birdville

Richland hadn't done well against Birdville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Richland Royals were the clear victor by a 6-2 margin over the Birdville Hawks. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Hawks are ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richland is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matches. As for Birdville, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-8-1.

Coincidentally, Richland and Birdville will both be playing Grapevine the next time they take the pitch. Birdville will head out to face Grapevine at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Richland will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
