Softball Recap: St. Teresa Bulldogs vs. Tuscola Warriors
St. Teresa extended their losing streak to 14 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-19 in the process. They came up short against the Tuscola Warriors, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Tuesday.
St. Teresa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jalie Eller, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Sara Maulberger also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
As for Tuscola, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.
On Tuscola's side, Ava Boyer was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four hits gave Boyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Ring, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Teresa will head out to take on Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tuscola, they will venture away from home to face off against Central A & M at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
