Monroe-Woodbury proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Pine Bush Bushmen. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Monroe-Woodbury's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Pine Bush are ranked 364th).

Liam MCGEE and Jayden SCAMARONE scored both of Monroe-Woodbury's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Monroe-Woodbury has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Pine Bush, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe-Woodbury will square off against Valley Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine Bush, they will challenge Warwick at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
