Purcell Marian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Norwood Indians as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cavaliers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Sonny Ward was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ward was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ty Raleigh was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Purcell Marian's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Norwood, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Indians beat Purcell Marian by a score of 2-0 later that day.
