Baseball Recap: Seminary Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Seminary couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the St. Patrick Fighting Irish by a score of 4-3 on Monday.

Drake Williamson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Seminary saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Napier, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Seminary's loss dropped their record down to 26-6-2. As for St. Patrick, they pushed their record up to 19-10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

While Seminary had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
