League recap: Central Dauphin tops Cumberland Valley to extend winning streak

Adding to the longest winning streak in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth this week, Central Dauphin beat Cumberland Valley 35-21. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

State College took down Carlisle 34-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. pat irwin threw for 39 yards and ran for 145 yards in the win.

Nate Dickey was a passing and rushing force as Central Dauphin beat the Eagles. He completed 6 passes for 76 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 150 yards. Dickey's key target this week was Jacob Perry, who caught 5 passes for 64 yards.

Perry was the best receiver in the league this week as Glen Mcnamee's team defeated Cumberland Valley. Perry racked up 5 receptions for 64 yards. Jake Notenstine helped Central Dauphin's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 12 yards.

6-foot-3 quarterback irwin of the Little Lions is the league leader in passing yards this season with 979. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Curtis Jerzerick. The Mifflin County star has 13 catches for 376 yards.

CHASE EDMONDS of the Central Dauphin East is only 71 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 101 carries EDMONDS has accumulated 929 yard this year.

One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when State College and Mifflin County face off next week.

Next week's game between Al Wolski's team and the Huskies will feature a good passing match up as irwin will test his arm against John Michael Maclay's defensive ability.

The Panthers are in fourth place, while the Trojans are in third place.

There should be lots of points scored when Mifflin County and the Little Lions face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, George Miskinis' team comes in having scored 207 this season, while State College has scored 221. The Huskies scored 14 points last week as they lost to Central Dauphin East.

AARON BLANDING's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,123 from 2,535. The improvement was largely due to a 34-14 victory over Mifflin County last week.
