Basketball Recap: Alakanuk Takes a Loss

Alakanuk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Chevak Comets 62-22. The match marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chevak had a senior duo take command as Shaneil Slats posted 17 points and Kali Hill had 18 points. Those 17 points gave Slats a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Green, who put up ten points.

Alakanuk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Chevak, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Alakanuk does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chevak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-52 win against Hooper Bay on the 24th.
