Volleyball Recap: Ja'zae-Lynne Lewis and Caylee Collins Secure Win for Refugio

It's playoff time, and Refugio had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Kaufer Seahawks on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won five in a row.

Refugio walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 22-25, 25-9, 25-17.

Leading Refugio to victory were Caylee Collins and Ja'Zae-Lynne Lewis. Collins had 12 digs, ten kills, seven aces, and five blocks, while Lewis had 27 digs and 16 kills. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedie Wills, who had 23 digs and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: Refugio was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

The victory got Refugio back to even at 19-19. As for Kaufer, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

As of now, neither Refugio nor the Seahawks have any future games scheduled.
