Soccer Game Preview: Eastern Alamance vs. Carrboro

The Eastern Alamance Eagles will take on the Carrboro Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Eastern Alamance sitting on six straight victories and Carrboro on 19.

Eastern Alamance is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Lee County with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for Eastern Alamance, who have now won 13 games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Lee County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lilly Massey (2), Abby Brinker (2), Ryen Gibbs (2), and Addie Lowe.

Meanwhile, Carrboro kept a clean sheet against C.B. Aycock on Monday. They blew past the Golden Falcons 9-0. Give Carrboro's defense some credit: that's the team's 15th straight shutout.

Carrboro pushed their record up to 20-0-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. As for Eastern Alamance, their win bumped their record up to 16-1-2.

Eastern Alamance took their victory against Carrboro when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
