Football Recap: Eldon Mustangs vs. Hallsville Indians

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eldon can now relate to. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hallsville Indians on Friday. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Eldon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Khale Hammond, who gained 145 total yards and two touchdowns, and Drew Hinds, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD.

Landon Cunningham had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 140 yards and four scores, while also throwing for 243 yards and one touchdown while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt for Hallsville. Cunningham is becoming a predictor of the Indians' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't).

Eldon's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hallsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
