Baseball Recap: Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Heritage Academy lost against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Heritage Academy Heroes came up short against the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans, falling 9-1. The Heroes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brenden Whetten was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Paul (PJ) Soltero also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Heritage Academy will square off against North Valley Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Academy is facing North Valley Christian Academy at the right time seeing as North Valley Christian Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they will face off against Madison Highland Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Madison Highland Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
