Softball Recap: Edna Karr's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Edna Karr brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They put the hurt on the John Ehret Patriots with a sharp 14-3 win on Friday. The Cougars not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th.

Rayne St.Ann made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off 12 hits. St.Ann was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Edna Karr got a massive performance out of Jaylnn Recasner, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5. Raniyah Recasner was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.

Edna Karr kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

With the victory, Edna Karr broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for John Ehret, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, Edna Karr will take on South Plaquemines at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. South Plaquemines has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.43 runs per game on average), something Edna Karr will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for John Ehret, they will challenge West Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
