Football Recap: Jefferson Area Starts Season with Victory Against Chagrin Falls

Jefferson Area had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Chagrin Falls Tigers by a score of 24-13 on Friday. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Falcons were the (much) better team in the second half.

Devin Salinas was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 129 receiving yards and three TDs. Another player making a difference was Mason Kalil, who threw for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Coming up, Jefferson Area will face off against Waterloo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chagrin Falls, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Geauga at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
