Baseball Game Preview: Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers vs. Blue Earth Buccaneers

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown will square off against Blue Earth at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown is looking for their season's first win.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 12-11. Even if the Buccaneers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Ivan Pratt and Brenden Snesrud did some serious damage despite the final result: Pratt scored two runs while going 1-for-4, while Snesrud scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brady Murphy, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Blue Earth lost 15-5 to Luverne on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Buccaneers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Peyton O'Hara made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Logan Rademaker also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Blue Earth and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Waterville-Elysian-Morristown's way against Blue Earth in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Waterville-Elysian-Morristown made off with an 8-0 win.
