Basketball Recap: Hardin County Comes Up Short

Hardin County lost against Jackson South Side back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hardin County Tigers had to suffer through a 59-23 loss at the hands of the Jackson South Side Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Hawks are ranked 27th).

Jackson South Side's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaidynn Askins, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Askins is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aydison Dilworth, who went 5-for-7 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Hardin County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Jackson South Side, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.

As of now, neither Hardin County nor Jackson South Side have any future games scheduled.
