Basketball Recap: Brackett's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Brackett ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 55-50 victory over the Van Horn Eagles. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Van Horn lost, don't look at Joey Anchondo. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 29 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Gonzalez, who posted four points in addition to nine boards and six assists.

Brackett's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Van Horn, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Brackett will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Charlotte at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Van Horn, they and Sanderson will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
