Football Game Preview: Sequoia Ravens vs. Carlmont Scots + How To Watch

The Sequoia Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the Carlmont Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sequoia will be strutting in after a win while Carlmont will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Sequoia strolled past Milpitas with points to spare, taking the game 25-7.

Sequoia can attribute much of their success to Nolan Fausto, who gained 215 total yards, and Luke Ostrander, who rushed for 58 yards and three scores on only eight carries. The dominant performance also gave Fausto a new career-high in rushing yards (167).

Sequoia's run defense was locked in: Milpitas could only muster 2.9 yards per carry. While five picked up at least four total tackles, Ostrander stood above the rest. He rushed for 58 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Sequoia's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 3.38 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.17 on average over their last five games.

Meanwhile, Carlmont fell victim to King's Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Knights. While losing is never fun, the Scots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 754th, while the Knights are ranked 287th).

Carlmont dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Sequoia, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Sequoia couldn't quite get it done against Carlmont when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 27-17. Can the Ravens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
