Basketball Recap: Eli Feinberg's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tarbut V' Torah over Artesia + How To Watch

Tarbut V' Torah fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Artesia on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 79-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (65), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Tarbut V' Torah's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Feinberg, who went 10-for-22 to rack up 25 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. Matt Olen was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Christian Stewart was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and 22 boards for Artesia. Stewart continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Heredia, who posted 22 points and five assists.

Tarbut V' Torah's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Artesia, their record is now 3-4.

Looking ahead, Tarbut V' Torah will square off against Magnolia Science Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' defense better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 56.5 points per game this season. As for Artesia, they will take on Independence in a tournament on Thursday.
