Recap: Sound Christian Lions vs. Muckleshoot Tribal Kings
The Sound Christian Lions pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between Sound Christian and Muckleshoot Tribal wasn't particularly close, with Sound Christian falling 76-59. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sound Christian of the 69-51 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Sound Christian saw an underclassman step up: AJ Alexeev dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 52.5% of Sound Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kona Resseau, who scored 14 points.
Sound Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sound Christian will play host again and welcome Grace Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grace Academy and Sound Christian are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Concordia Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Concordia Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
