Basketball Recap: Whitehorse Skates Past Pinnacle with Ease

Whitehorse waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Pinnacle Panthers, posting a 61-22 win. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 33 points or more this season.

Whitehorse was led to victory by Keiarra Martin and Heidi Clark. Martin posted 22 points, while Clark earned 19 points. Martin's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Pinnacle's loss came despite strong showings from Heather Kerr and Jostyn McLean. Kerr almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards, while McLean put up nine points and seven rebounds. That was a full 45.5% of Pinnacle's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Whitehorse has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Pinnacle, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Coincidentally, Whitehorse and Pinnacle will both be playing Monument Valley the next time they take the court. Whitehorse will head out to face Monument Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Pinnacle will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th.
