Softball Recap: Woodstock Academy Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Woodstock Academy's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ledyard Colonels on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colonels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in April.

Woodstock Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellary Sampson, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Woodstock Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for Ledyard, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Coincidentally, Woodstock Academy and Ledyard will both be playing New London the next time they take the field. The Colonels will host the Whalers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Centaurs will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
