Softball Recap: Granite Hills Sets Scoring Season-High Against Adelanto

While Granite Hills's victory against Adelanto wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Saints 31-29. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Alina Salgado, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with one home run, five runs, and two RBI. Those six hits gave her a new career-high. Emily Marks was another key player, going 3-for-7 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Salgado wasn't the only one making solid contact: Granite Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 30 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Granite Hills and bumps their season record up to 10-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.0 runs over those games. As for Adelanto, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Granite Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saints: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
