Softball Recap: Hull-Daisetta's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hull-Daisetta had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spurger Pirates a 7-0 shutout on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Scarlett Breaux was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lanee Moseley, who scored three runs and stole Six bases. while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Reed, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double.

Hull-Daisetta picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Spurger, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Hull-Daisetta will challenge Crockett at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spurger, they will square off against Good Samaritan HomeSchool at 4:00 p.m. on March 14th.
