Basketball Recap: Edinburg Bobcats vs. Hanna Golden Eagles
Edinburg won the last time they faced Hanna, and things went their way on Saturday too. The Edinburg Bobcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Hanna Golden Eagles 55-19. The Bobcats pushed the score to 40-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Golden Eagles had little chance of recovering from.
Edinburg was led to victory by Yuri Perez and Kiera Pool. Perez posted 14 points, to go along with seven assists and seven boards, while Pool put up ten points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Pool continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Khloe Trevino, who had ten points and three steals.
Edinburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Hanna, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edinburg will challenge Veterans Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Veterans Memorial will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Edinburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hanna, they will face off against Hidalgo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
