Basketball Game Preview: Cherry Creek Bruins vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

Cherry Creek is a perfect 3-0 against Roosevelt since November of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bruins will face off against the Roughriders at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Cherry Creek kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 61-44 bruising from Kent Denver.

Despite the loss, Cherry Creek got top-tier performance from Addison Beck, who went 8-for-20 to rack up 25 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Natalia Baal, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt suffered their biggest defeat since January 16th on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 66-25 loss at the hands of Legend.

Cherry Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Roughriders' Kyla Lin Hollier, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 boards. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Bruins still be able to contain Hollier? There's only one way to find out.
