After a string of eight wins, the La Vega Pirates's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of LaPoynor by a score of 55-53.

La Vega's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Monta Hilliard, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and Kobe Williams who scored eight points along with seven steals. The contest was Hilliard's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Amir Gibson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
