Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Avery's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Avery won the last time they faced Union Hill and things went their way on Thursday too. The Avery Bulldogs came out on top against the Union Hill Bulldogs by a score of 40-32. The win made it back-to-back victories for Avery.

Despite the defeat, Union Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore EJ Mowery went 6 of 15 on his way to 21 points along with five boards and four steals. Mowery is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Dunn, who posted eight points.

Avery is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Union Hill, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Avery will head out on the road to face off against Avinger at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Hill, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bloomburg at 7:30 p.m.
