Marina won the last time they faced Monte Vista Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mariners walked away with a 55-48 win over the Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mariners.

Monte Vista Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Go Kamishita, who posted 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. He also grabbed a steal, marking his first of the season. Matteo Vidal was another key player, shooting 41% from the field on his way to 21 points and five boards.

Marina's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Monte Vista Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marina will challenge King City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Monte Vista Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harker at 5:00 p.m. on the 19th.
