Softball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Finds Playoff Glory Versus Torrey Pines

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Rancho Bernardo had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Torrey Pines Falcons. Winning may never get old, but the Broncos sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ellery Housand, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Emily Caha also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Rancho Bernardo's victory bumped their record up to 12-13-1. As for Torrey Pines, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 17-11 record.

Coincidentally, Rancho Bernardo and Torrey Pines will both be playing La Costa Canyon the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Mavericks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Broncos will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
