Baseball Preview: True North Classical Academy Titans vs. NSU University Sharks
The True North Classical Academy Titans will head out to take on the NSU University Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Titans fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Thursday's season opener. They had just enough and edged Stoneman Douglas out 1-0.
Alan Soler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, True North Classical Academy's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Cedeno, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Misael Uriepero was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Meanwhile, NSU University made easy work of Community School of Naples on Thursday and carried off an 8-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.
Aidan Jacobs looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
At the plate, NSU University let Griffin Pomper and Bradyn Potter loose on the outfield. Pomper scored a run while going 4-for-4, while Potter scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Potter also racked up two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaac Rosa, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
