Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Vernon). They claimed a resounding 63-15 win over the Utah School for the Deaf & Blind Eagles. The victory was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Mount Vernon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Wharton, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Wharton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Song, who earned 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Mount Vernon's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14. As for Utah School for the Deaf & Blind, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Dugway the next time they take the court. Mount Vernon will host Dugway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Utah School for the Deaf & Blind will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th.
