            Football Recap: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. Providence Day Chargers        
        
		
        
        
            Charlotte Christian lost against Providence Day back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The Knights came up short against  the Chargers, falling  46-20. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Chargers are ranked second).
Although Charlotte Christian took the loss, they still got scores from  Jack Gullickson,  Reese Struble,  and  Sawyer Gorman.

 Even if they lost, Charlotte Christian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Mj Barrow and  Jacob Simmons, who racked up  four sacks between them. Barrow is  on a roll when it comes to  sacks, as he's  now  posted  at least one in each of the last three games he's  played. Another thorn in Providence Day's side was  Henry Hulbert, who picked up  a  sack and made 12 total tackles.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Zaid Lott, who threw for 206 yards and three  TDs, and also punched in one  score on the ground.  Aidan Gallos helped  Lott out on the ground, rushing for 111 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Charlotte Christian now  has a losing record of 4-5. As for Providence Day, the  victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
 Coming up, Charlotte Christian will square off against Charlotte Latin at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Hawks' defense has only allowed 14.1  points per game  this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Providence Day, they will challenge Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
