Baseball Recap: Nettleton Comes Up Short

Nettleton lost against Batesville back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Raiders fell 6-2 to the Pioneers.

Maddox Hampton was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Ford Raffo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Nettleton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Batesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Nettleton nor Batesville have any future games scheduled.
