Muscle Shoals posted their closest victory since May 6, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Russellville Golden Tigers 6-4. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Golden Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Muscle Shoals' victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Russellville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.

Muscle Shoals and Russellville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Trojans will take on Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (172 vs. 46). Meanwhile, Russellville (ranked 269th) will meet Colbert Heights (ranked 111th) at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
