Soccer Game Preview: Doherty vs. Cheyenne Mountain

The Doherty Spartans will challenge the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Doherty will be strutting in after a win while Cheyenne Mountain will be coming in after a defeat.

Doherty proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Vista Ridge 2-1. Doherty wouldn't have won without Hannah Bell, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain entered their matchup against Air Academy on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Red-Tailed Hawks fell just short of the Kadets by a score of 1-0. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Cheyenne Mountain couldn't quite close it out.

Doherty's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-3.
