Baseball Recap: Vicksburg Comes Up Short

The Vicksburg Gators lost 7-1 to the Mendenhall Tigers on Friday.

Vicksburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allan Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in stolen bases. Another was Kotten Thomas, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Vicksburg now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mendenhall, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vicksburg will welcome Yazoo City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Vicksburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Mendenhall, they will take on Magee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
