Volleyball Recap: Hardin Valley Academy Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hardin Valley Academy duked it out with Lincoln County on Saturday. The Hawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Hardin Valley Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18.

Lincoln County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reese Winsett, who had eight kills and two aces. Winsett has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lillian Golden, who had nine digs and two aces.

Hardin Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Lincoln County, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Hardin Valley Academy will host Farragut at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Central Magnet on the 20th.
