Softball Recap: Bethel Takes a Loss

Bethel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Richmond Oilers, falling 15-6. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Oilers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Sam Reyes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Shanette Marshall, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3.

Bethel's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Richmond, they moved to 1-4 with that win, which also ended their 14-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethel will host Hercules at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richmond will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bethel at 4:00 p.m. on April 14th.
