Baseball Recap: Orange Glen Comes Up Short

Orange Glen managed to slip by Calvin Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Patriots lost 11-2 to the Crusaders on Wednesday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Jacob Morales was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Orange Glen is 2-1 when Morales posts three or more hits, but 10-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Erick Alcantara, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one double.

Orange Glen has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Calvin Christian, with the victory, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13.

While Orange Glen had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
