Basketball Recap: Velva Starts off Right with Win over Des Lacs-Burlington

Velva took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). Everything went their way against the Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers as the Velva Aggies made off with a 74-54 victory. This was payback for the Aggies, who suffered a 70-34 loss the last time these two teams met.

Des Lacs-Burlington is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Velva will head out to take on Bottineau at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Des Lacs-Burlington, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Watford City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
