Baseball Recap: Bristol Takes a Loss

Bristol had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 6-11 to make it five. They fell 5-2 to the Conneaut Spartans. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Conneaut, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-15-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.

For Conneaut's part, Gabe Ghiz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Daniel Huya was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Colby Stiltner was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Coming up, Bristol will venture away from home to take on Harvey at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Conneaut, they will welcome Grand River Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
