Football Game Preview: Jefferson Forest Cavaliers vs. Heritage Pioneers + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Cam Foxx and David Bradley are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Jefferson Forest Cavaliers will be playing at home against the Heritage Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Jefferson Forest sitting on four straight wins and Heritage on eight.

On Friday, Jefferson Forest took their game with ease, bagging a 41-13 victory over Brookville. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 28 points or more this season.

Jefferson Forest can attribute much of their success to Peyton Jackson, who threw for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes, and also rushed for 49 yards. Those 49 rushing yards gave Jackson a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jefferson Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brookville only rushed for 11.

Jefferson Forest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Pierson Brooks and Thax Rowland. That interception marked the first that Brooks has snagged this season.

Meanwhile, Heritage faced Liberty Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Pioneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 win over the Bulldogs.

Heritage had a senior duo take command as Ayden Slash rushed for 126 yards and two scores and Tyler Harless rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown. Those 126 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Slash.

Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Jefferson Forest, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-1.
