Softball Recap: La Crosse Logan Comes Up Short

If La Crosse Logan was riding high fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Sparta on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rangers fell 7-2 to the Portage Warriors on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Rangers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Emma Bacon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Maria Weber also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

La Crosse Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Portage, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

La Crosse Logan will challenge Tomah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Portage, they will take on Waterford at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
