Baseball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

Croton-Harmon hit Westlake with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 9-3 to the Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

Mark Mastracchio made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He also got two hits, marking his first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Westlake and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Croton-Harmon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Westlake is taking a road trip to square off against Walter Panas at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Croton-Harmon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hendrick Hudson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
