Volleyball Recap: Newark Wildcats vs. New Albany Eagles
Newark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the New Albany Eagles. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
The final score came out to 25-11, 20-25, 25-17, 25-12.
New Albany can attribute much of their success to Adam Sutton, who had 12 digs and two aces. Sutton is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last six games he's played.
Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for New Albany, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Newark will host Pickerington North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Albany, they will head out to take on Bishop Watterson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
