Basketball Game Preview: Cedarcrest Red Wolves vs. Newport - Bellevue Knights

The Cedarcrest Red Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Newport - Bellevue Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Newport - Bellevue took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cedarcrest, who comes in off a win.

Cedarcrest took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 win over Hazen.

Meanwhile, Newport - Bellevue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 60-41 bruising from Interlake. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Saints are ranked 162nd).

Cedarcrest's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Newport - Bellevue, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Cedarcrest beat Newport - Bellevue 53-41 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cedarcrest since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
