Football Game Preview: Declo Hornets vs. American Falls Beavers

Declo has gone a perfect 3-0 against American Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Beavers at 7:00 p.m. Declo will be strutting in after a win while American Falls will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Declo was able to grind out a solid victory over Malad, taking the game 28-21. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Zane Snedaker and Traecyn Thaxton were among the main playmakers for Declo as the former gained 223 total yards and a touchdown and the latter threw for 274 yards and two TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt. Snedaker really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.

Declo didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Malad to a completion percentage of just 42.1%. The Hornets hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.58 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, American Falls' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Snake River by a score of 17-14.

Declo's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for American Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Declo against American Falls in their previous matchup back in September of 2017, as the squad secured a 61-14 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
