Soccer Game Preview: Palatine vs. Conant

Palatine hasn't had much luck against Conant recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pirates will challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Palatine's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Palatine's victory against Hoffman Estates wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Hawks on Tuesday. Palatine haven't had any issues with Hoffman Estates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kiera Seifert and Jocelyn Bonilla scored both of Palatine's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Conant kept a clean sheet against Taft on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Conant were the better team in the second half.

Conant's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6-2. As for Palatine, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-2.

Palatine couldn't quite get it done against Conant in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
